2019 Farm Crew Member
We are looking for a hardworking and positive individual for the 2019 farm season who is passionate about small-scale sustainable farming. Prior farming experience is helpful, but not required.
Description: Part-time position. Mid April - Mid-October, 2-4 days per week. Typical hours are 8-4:30pm. As the main crew member of the season, the candidate will get diverse experience in all parts of our farm operation.
Duties: Main duties will be the harvest, washing and packing of produce for farmer’s market and wholesale.
Other duties include:
Bed preparation (crop removal, broadforking, ammending)
Cultivation with hand tools and hand weeding
Trellising and pruning of vining crops (Tomatoes and cucumbers)
Transplanting and seeding weekly crop successions
Hauling and spreading compost
Setting up and selling at the Snohomish Farmers Market on Thursdays May-September
Local deliveries for wholesale orders around Snohomish
Requirements: Enjoy physical work and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs repeatedly. Willing to work in all weather conditions. Be able to walk, stand, squat or kneel for extended periods of time. A valid driver’s license.
Compensation: $12-14/hr depending on experience
Access to weekly produce from the farm when available
Accrued paid sick leave
No housing provided, but we are located within Snohomish city limits right next to the Centennial trail
End of season bonus .
Opportunity for wage increases and more hours for 2020 for the right candidate
