Part-time Seasonal Crew Member for the 2025 season. (posted 2/26/25)

16-24 hours a week. Below is a more detailed job description.

The Farm: We are a small queer owned vegetable farm on Coast Salish land in Snohomish, WA. We usually operate with a team of 2-4 dedicated people. We use no-till and organic methods to grow around 25+ crops for one farmers market, online store and wholesale accounts. 2025 will be our 10th season in operation. James Berntson (they/them) is the farm manager and will provide training along with Shanna (she/her) during the season. 

Schedule: Part-time farm crew position (April-mid October). 16-24 hrs

April-Mid November: Wednesday and Thursday are the main days needed. Tuesdays and Fridays are a possible additional shift day between May-September. 

Typical hours are 8am-4:30pm. Subject to slight variation depending on frosts and extreme heat. Potential to return for the 2025 season with higher wage and more hours.  

Duties:  Main duties will be harvest, washing and packing of produce for farmer’s market, online store & wholesale orders. Other duties include:

  • Bed preparation (crop removal, broadforking, amending)

  • Cultivation with hand tools and hand weeding

  • Trellising and pruning of vining crops (tomatoes and cucumbers) 

  • Transplanting and seeding weekly crop successions

  • Hauling and spreading compost 

  • Washing harvest and market totes

  • Helping set-up and sell veggies at the Thursday Snohomish Farmers Market (if our main market help is out)

  • Potential local deliveries to nearby wholesale drop off or restaurant

Requirements:  Enjoy physical work and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs repeatedly. Willing to work in all weather conditions. Be able to walk, stand, squat or kneel for extended periods of time. Be kind and respectful to other co-workers and customers. 

Compensation:  $20 per hour starting wage

  • Accrued paid sick leave per WA state law (1 hr per 40 hrs worked)

  • $100 gear stipend at start of season

  • Access to weekly produce from the farm when available

  • Flexible days off with advanced notice 

  • End of season bonus (Based on hours worked and overall performance)

  • Wage increases based on performance and hours worked (up to $22/hr by late season)

  • All employees are on payroll with biweekly direct deposit and insured under WA state law

  • Hands on training in wide scope of farm operations and access to Neversink Online Farm Course
